I love the quote above about the majesty of walking up the path to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. After my first wine tasting of unique Biltmore Estate wines, I’d say this quote fits their wine collection as well.

Provisions - Biltmore Village now stocks a number of Biltmore Estate wines at our shop near the entrance to the estate.

The storied past of the Cecil Family stomping into wine-making is fascinating. The original goal was to cultivate grapes on the estate and keep the wine-making on the property of the estate. In reality, it was not possible to grow the grape varietals necessary in our Western North Carolina region.

Biltmore tested numerous varietals. Four of them–Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot–were proven to be well-suited for our Blue Ridge Mountain terrain. To expand the portfolio and consistently craft the highest quality wines, Biltmore continues to partner with select growers in North Carolina, California, and Washington.

The Biltmore Estate wines honor the Vanderbilt agricultural heritage and we could not be more proud to carry a number of their unique blends in our shop. Stop in and try them sometime soon!
