Do you hear that?  Tree frogs, cicadas, crickets… Oh, the sounds of summer. Only to be awakened by TVs and children playing at dawn. The days are long but summer is short.

I don’t know about you, but I was ready for school to end and summer to begin. It seemed as if the last few months of school were pretty demanding. Between administration appreciation day, teacher appreciation week, and the last day of school, we were always shopping for a gift, planning for a party, or headed to the next event. Shopping isn’t what it used to be. Years ago, you didn’t have a lot of stores to choose from… Belk, Hallmark, and Walmart, were the typical three, and the gifts were always the same; Best Teacher Ever, You Rock, Superstar on any mug, bag or shirt you chose… Thinking about the gift made me want to bang my head against the wall. This time around, I wanted to get a gift that said “I see you and I appreciate you”.

I wanted to buy that gift from someplace that made me feel the same way. That’s where Provisions Mercantile comes into play. Their products aren’t just items in a store. The team at Provisions considers their customers when choosing products for sale. Online shopping, can I get a groan from the back row? Hours circling websites, putting this together with that… trying to figure out coordinating packaging and shipping dates. It’s not that way with Provisions. Their online website makes shopping even easier and you’re not supporting Jeff Bezos!

You’re supporting a family who pours their hearts back into the local community. Provisions Mercantile
makes online shopping fun. They have multiple categories, generous descriptions, and if you have a
question, just call the store. I’m not going to say Provisions did all the work, the token class mom did provide me a list of the teacher’s favorite things! Provisions made searching for the favorite things easy. They have a search box at the top… easy-peasey. Our teachers put one of their favorite things as “local tea”. Wait, did I see Tea on Provisions Instagram? I went online, searched Tea and bada-bing, PRESTO, there it was. I furthered my search to find accessories, some note cards, some jelly, and… what about honey? In less than 10 minutes I had a reasonable Teacher’s gift. It wasn’t from a commercial store, AND it was all made in NC, which was even better. (Note everything in the store isn’t made in NC, just the choices I made.)

Are you looking for a gift? Don’t know where to start, but have an idea? Try Provisions Mercantile online!! If you have any questions, give them a call and they will help! It’s a one stop shop for what you need and you are supporting not only a local family, but a local community.

Cheers,

-Carlette M. (with a little help from Matt)
