Entertaining With Ease

Our business has expanded over this past year to include a fresh made charcuterie option as another grab-n-go snack at our Biltmore Village Shop as well as a charcuterie option on our sit-down small bites menu within the shop.

We have watched this menu item blossom over the last few months as customers have come in looking for a moment to relax, grab a glass of wine, sit a spell, and nibble on something light and local.

As Heather and I talked extinsively about expanding our fresh-made charcuterie offering to not only include our current customer base, but also wedding day festivities, small gatherings, and corporate events, we reflected on how we got to this point.

By May of 2020, along with the world, we realized that COVID was going to be around for quite a long time. The “2-weeks to bend the curve” was likely going to be much longer. With so many things canceled in our life, at that time, we found ourselves at home…. A lot! In search of anything positive and encouraging, Heather and I would make an evening charcuterie board, a glass of wine, and sit on the porch and take in the southern appalachian sights.

This nightly ritual provided us great conversation, time to reflect, time to reminisce, and time to be present. Before we knew it, we would regularly see neighbors out walking and looking for any human interaction. Heather and I agreed to engage and entertain anyone that wanted to stop by and just chat or relax for a bit, safely on the porch.

It was “entertaining with ease”. We had charcuterie, we had wine, and we had created an opportunity for great conversation.

Our goal at the shops is to create opportunities to gather. The goal is to provide you with the basic products, gifts, and foods to create an opportunity for front-porch sitting, great conversation, and a purpose to gather.

We have made it to a season of warmth around Asheville, NC. Cheers to warmer weather and deeper friendships! Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to continue serving and loving the community that we live. We hope you enjoy the shops as much as we surely enjoy curating them.
