Encouraging Words

Some days you need it. Some days I need it. Some days we both need it.

“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.”
— C.S. Lewis

Who doesn’t love to receive an encouraging word? It's that little bit of optimism you can share with someone else, and it can make all the difference in the world.

People need encouragement. People need positive interaction. We all carry so much of our past and our present like a weighted vest everywhere we go. Life hits us all hard at different times…. at different phases…. at different stops on the journey.

I get to see first hand everyday so many people walking in and out of our shops’ doors. They all are carrying the weight of their story with them. It is a joy to hear a snippet of their story and offer a bit of encouragement. The interactions are an example of human nature at its core.

An encouraging word usually catches us all off guard. What a treat it is to genuinely offer up a bit of encouragement to those you speak to today? Encouraging words are unique. They are free and usually help both the giver and receiver.

Encouragement can be a powerful tool in your arsenal, and it's important for us to use it wisely. Encouragement can make a difference. It brings joy; It brings hope; It brings connection and a sense of belonging. All things that Heather and I desire for shops and our life.

Typically, I show up to work in the mornings like a train wreck. From the hustle of our personal life to the challenges of small business, it helps me to work the floor, be present, engage, and offer encouraging words to those that I’ve just met.

Try it some time! You might surprise yourself. If you need a little yourself, stop by our shop sometime. I’m offering it up for free!

We are trying hard to expand our reach with our blog and newsletter, if you would, please share this with your friends that might join us on this journey. Perhaps we will encourage each other! It’s a simple ask!

Cheers,

Matt
